Tata Nano Twist F-Tronic features an electro hydraulic mechanism with electronic control unit and hydraulic system for clutch use and gear shift functions there by allowing the car to be driven in the same manner as any driver would but with added conveniences.
The new technology opens and closes the clutch, engages and disengages gears and offers a choice of automatic or sequential mode when changing gears. The car on display was a cut section showing the precise working of internal mechanism in the car and the Nano AMT is slated to go on sale by 2015.
Thanks to efficient technology on board Tata Nano Twist F-Tronic Concept fuel efficiency is enhanced by 15-20% over automatic transmission and the driver will be able to change gears without the need of clutch pedal thus offering smoother driving experiences. The model will sport functioning tailgate and power steering and once launched will be the cheapest automatic car, surpassing the Maruti Suzuki Celerio.
