One of the most awaited cars to be launched in 2020, Tata Nexon EV can be a game changer by providing both reliability and affordability to electric car buyers. However, ahead of its launch, Tata Motors has detailed its app and connected car features called ZConnect.

Tata says, “Intuitive and easy to use, this app is designed to meet the aspirations of contemporary and tech-savvy consumer.” Some of the features of this new app include remote monitoring of the current charge levels, available range, charging history, nearest charging stations and more.

You can also access Remote lock/unlock, Remote lamp control & Remote horn activation. You can pre-cool the car with remote cooling function. Location based services are also on offer, find my car, route navigation, app will also tell you which places you will need to halt for charging battery, sharing LIVE location.

You can also find nearest electric car charging station, nearest Tata Motors service station. Tata Motors has partnered with Tata Power to offer Nexon electric customers access to about 300 car charging stations across key metros in India.

In addition to this, the app also offers safety and security. The ZConnect app is designed to send out instant crash notifications, panic notifications and an emergency SOS, when necessary. Further, in case the car is stolen, the user can request for a remote immobilization service via dedicated 24X7 call center.

The app will send multiple notifications to your smartphone. The app is designed to release over 20 different instant alerts, keeping the user informed about critical vehicle health and safety parameters. Apart from these, users can set custom speed, Geo fence or time fence limits. Breach of any of these, triggers an instant alert on the smartphone. The app will also track your driving behaviour. Will notify about harsh braking, sudden accelerations, accidents, etc.

Nexon EV is powered by a state-of-the-art system called Ziptron, which ticks all the boxes such as affordability, comfort, performance and hassle-free operations. The car utilizes an IP67 rated lithium-ion battery pack, which has been rigorously tested to suit Indian roads and weather conditions. Customers can have complete peace of mind, as the battery comes with segment-first 8-year warranty. Range is also pretty good at 300 km on full charge. Price is expected to be in the Rs 15-`8 lakhs range.

Unlike the usual practise of nationwide launch, Nexon EV will be launched in phases. In the first phase, only the top cities will be covered. These include New Delhi, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Pune. Based on market response, other cities and towns could be covered at a later date.
