2772 units of Tata Nexon sold in first month of launch

Despite its late entry into the SUV segment in India on September 21, 2017, Tata Nexon has garnered immense attention. Its competitive pricing and attractive stance has gained it 2,772 buyers last month. With the number or Tata Nexon sold, it now stands in 10th position in the list of top 10 best selling SUVs in India.

Within a month of launch, Nexon has made it to the list of top 10 best selling SUVs. It should be safe to say the number of Tata Nexon sold in the next few months will be an interesting space to watch. Each of the company’s recent launches, among which are the Hexa, Tigor and Tiago, has appealed to buyers in India. The Nexon commands a waiting period of 6-8 weeks and its aggressive pricing which starts at INR 5.85 lakhs going up to INR 9.44 lakhs also undercuts Maruti Suzuki Brezza by 40,000-45,000 across all variants.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza has topped the list with 13,268 units sold during the month as against 9,375 units sold in the same month of 2016. Hyundai Creta was in second spot with 9,292 units sold as compared to 8,835 units sold in September 2016. Mahindra and Mahindra found three of its models among top 10 best selling SUVs in September 2017 with Bolero, Scorpio and XUV500 in 3rd, 5th and 9th position respectively.

Toyota Innova also scored among the 10 best selling SUVs in September 2017 with 6,323 units sold but lost position from 3rd place in September 2016 with 7,300 units sold to a 4th position last month. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, in 6th position saw sales to the extent of 5,683 units as compared to 6,438 units sold in September 2016. Ford EcoSport was in 7th spot on the list of top 10 best selling SUVs in September 2017 with 4,934 units sold as compared to a 6th position in September 2016 with 4,417 units sold. 4,834 units of Honda WR-V, launched in March 2017, placed the model in 8th position, gaining it a firm footing among best selling SUVs for the past month.
