Tata Motors reported domestic passenger vehicle sales of 50,046 units in December 2025, marking a 13.17% year-on-year growth compared to 44,221 units sold in December 2024. The performance was driven largely by strong demand for Tata’s core SUV portfolio, led by Nexon and Punch, even as overall volumes declined on a month-on-month basis. On a yearly basis, Tata Motors has ended the year at No 3, behind Maruti and Mahindra.

The Nexon / Nexon EV continued to be Tata’s highest-selling model for the month, with 19,375 units, registering a healthy 43.14% YoY growth. The Punch / Punch EV followed with 15,980 units, up 6.02% YoY, reinforcing its position as one of the brand’s most consistent volume contributors. The Tiago / Tiago EV range also delivered steady numbers at 5,826 units, growing 16.38% YoY, while Altroz saw a sharp improvement, clocking 2,871 units, a strong 53.86% YoY rise.
In the higher SUV segments, Harrier / Harrier EV posted 2,378 units, growing an impressive 81.94% YoY, while Safari recorded 1,446 units, up marginally by 4.40%. The newly introduced Sierra contributed 291 units in December, marking its first appearance in the sales chart. On the other hand, Curvv / Curvv EV sales dropped sharply to 1,104 units, reflecting a 77.89% YoY decline, while Tigor / Tigor EV fell to 775 units, down 26.47% YoY.
Month on Month
On a month-on-month basis, Tata Motors saw a 12.87% decline in sales compared to 57,436 units in November 2025. Most models registered a drop, including Nexon, Punch and Harrier, reflecting typical year-end softness and inventory adjustments. However, Tigor / Tigor EV stood out with a 58.81% MoM growth, and Curvv remained largely flat. Overall, Tata Motors’ December 2025 performance highlights continued strength in its SUV-heavy lineup, even as volumes moderated sequentially.
Sierra Deliveries Start This Week
Deliveries of the all-new Tata Sierra are set to commence from this week, and early market response indicates strong customer interest. With the buzz surrounding its launch, fresh positioning, and premium SUV appeal, the Sierra is expected to significantly bolster Tata Motors’ sales momentum in the coming months. As deliveries ramp up and availability improves across dealerships, the Sierra could emerge as an important volume driver for Tata, further strengthening the brand’s already robust SUV portfolio in 2026.
