Tata Motors was the 3rd best-selling OEM in March 2023 with 44,047 units sold and a 13.1 percent market share
Tata Motors sales in March 2023 were at 44,047 units, up 4 percent YoY from 42,295 units sold in March 2022. It was also a MoM growth of 3 percent over 42,865 units sold in Feb 2023. Market share remained flat at 13.1 percent.
Tata Motors was the 3rd best-selling OEM in March 2023 after Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. It has seen its sales grow both on YoY and MoM basis unlike Maruti Suzuki that reported a de-growth both on YoY and MoM sales and market share dip 2.1 percent.
Tata Motors Sales Breakup March 2023 – Nexon No 1
Tata Motors had the Nexon at No. 1 in terms of sales last month. Nexon sales stood at 14,769 units in the past month, up 3 percent over 14,315 units sold in March 2022. It was also a MoM growth in sales by 6 percent from 13,914 units sold in Feb 2023. Earlier this month, Nexon achieved a major production milestone of 5 lakh units. It was the 5th best-selling car in the country in March 2023.
At No. 2 was the Tata Punch which has seen a YoY growth of 3 percent to 10,894 units in March 2023 from 10,526 units sold in March 2022. MoM sales however, dipped 2 percent from 11,169 units sold in Feb 2023. Tata Punch also found mention at No. 9 on the list of top 10 best-selling cars in March 2023.
Sales of Tata Tiago increased 84 percent on a YoY basis but dipped 1 percent MoM to 7,366 units. There were 4,002 units sold in March 2022 and 7,457 units sold in Feb 2023. Lackluster performance was seen in the case of the Tata Altroz premium hatchback, sales of which dipped 18 percent YoY and 2 percent MoM to 3,862 units in March 2023. There were a total of 4,727 units sold in March 2022 and 3,955 units sold in Feb 2023.
Tata Car Sales Under 5k March 2023
Apart from Altroz, there were other Tata cars which registered under 5k sales last month. Tata Tigor sales were also in the red in March 2023, down 32 percent YoY to 2,705 units from 4,007 units sold in March 2022. On a MoM basis, sales dipped 12 percent over 3,064 units sold in Feb 2023.
Tata Harrier sales improved YoY and MoM by 3 percent and 25 percent respectively to 2,561 units in March 2023. This was against 2,491 units sold in March 2022 and 2,054 units sold in Feb 2023. Safari sales, on the other hand dipped 15 percent YoY to 1,890 units in March 2023 from 2,227 units sold in March 2022 while MoM sales improved by 51 percent from 1,252 units sold in Feb 2023.
Tata Motors has planned multiple new launches this year. Some of them have already been launched. Next in line are Altroz CNG, Punch CNG, Nexon facelift, Harrier facelift and Safari facelift. Next year, we will get Curvv, which will rival Creta and Seltos.
