When Curvv didn’t bring Tata Motors ahead of the curve in 4.2m to 4.4m SUV segment, we witnessed the launch of Tata Sierra. This is a much bigger bet and a much more impactful product than Curvv and is expected to ruffle the feathers of its immediate rivals. Prices for Tata Sierra start from Rs 11.5 lakh (Ex-sh) for base Smart+ trim.

The company is also offering extended warranty with Sierra on top of its standard 3 Year / 1,00,000 km warranty (whichever is early). These extended warranty packs start from Rs 20k and change depending on the variant chosen. Let’s take a closer look.

Tata Sierra Extended Warranty Explained

Ever since Tata has launched the Sierra in India, there has been a wave of enthusiasm from Indian SUV buyers. Bookings have been sensational, as per Tata Motors and deliveries have just begun. Buyers would be interested in extended warranty with Sierra for a peace of mind in their ownership journey.

For starters, Tata Motors is not charging any additional surcharge on these extended warranty plans if buyers opt for them within the first 90 days of purchase date. If buyer decided to opt for these extended warranty plans after 90 days and within 180 days, there will be a surcharge of 10% and beyond 180 days, there is a 20% surcharge.

After a buyer navigates the surcharge situations, they have to decide between a 1 Year / 1,00,000 km or a 2 Year / 1,25,000 km extended warranty plan. For both these plans, prices vary between powertrain combinations. 1 Year / 1,00,000 km extended warranty plans start from Rs 20,220 for NA Petrol MT, Rs 23,130 for NA Petrol DCA and Rs 23,455 for Turbo Petrol AT.

Where Diesel is concerned, 1 Year / 1,00,000 km extended warranty plans for MT variant costs Rs 22,130 and it is Rs 24,400 for AT. The 2 Year / 1,25,000 km extended warranty plans cost a slight premium starting from Rs 25,275 for NA Petrol MT, Rs 28,915 for NA Petrol DCA, Rs 29,319 for Turbo Petrol AT, Rs 29,654 for Diesel MT and Rs 34,648 for Diesel AT.
