Bringing back the legendary Sierra in its new avatar has worked out pretty well, with over 70,000 bookings received in just 24 hours. Ahead of the commencement of deliveries from 15th January, production is in full swing at Tata’s plant in Sanand, Gujarat. All-new Sierra has four broad trim levels – Smart+, Pure, Adventure and Accomplished. Here, we take a closer look at the Sierra Pure second-base variant and its features with a detailed walkaround video.

Sierra Pure Petrol MT second-base variant – Design and features
All-new Sierra’s striking presence will be almost fully accessible to buyers opting for the second-base Pure variant. Key highlights include top-mounted sleek LED DRLs with integrated turn indicators and a full-width LED light strip. The SUV has sharp Bi-LED projector headlamps, SIERRA badging and rugged bumper design.

However, some functional items such as fog lamps, front radar (for ADAS) and front parking sensors are missing. These are available with the higher variants of the new Sierra. Side profile has squared wheel arches, body cladding in piano black finish, blacked-out A pillars and thick body-coloured B-pillars.

The SUV gets blacked-out ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, flush door handles with illumination and sporty door trims. The ORVMs are electrically adjustable and come with autofold function. Pure variant does not get alloy wheels. But the dual-tone full wheel covers ensure a premium and sporty look for the SUV.

Sierra Pure variant uses R17 steel wheels, wrapped in 215/65 Goodyear tyres. SIERRA badging in metallic finish can be seen on the front doors. The Pure variant does not get the signature full glass roof at the rear. Instead, the glossy black finish on the roof helps achieve a similar look and feel.

For panoramic sunroof, buyers will need to choose the Pure+ or above variants. Key features at the rear include a shark fin antenna, SIERRA badging, sharp tail lamps in connected format, parking sensors and electric tailgate release. Sierra Pure variant misses out on key features such as rear wiper and defogger.

Boot space is best-in-class at 622 litres. It has been achieved by using an underbody setup for storing the spare tyre, which is the same size as the regular tyres.

Colour options, equipment list, safety
Tata Sierra Pure second-base variant has four colour options – Munnar Mist, Pristine White, Pure Grey and Coorg Cloud. Tech kit covers all the essentials such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital cockpit, 8-speaker audio system and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

There’s Type-C 45W and Type-A USB ports, steering mounted controls and 250+ native voice assist commands in 6 languages. Other highlights include front sliding armrest with storage, adjustable headrests, follow me home headlamps, central locking and electronic parking brake with auto hold.

Also present are rear window sunshades, front cabin lamps, 8-way extendable sun visor, rear AC vents and tilt and telescopic steering wheel with illuminated logo. Safety kit is pretty robust with 6 airbags, all wheel disc brakes, rear camera with park assist guides, hill descent control and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

The electronic stability program (ESP) has 20 features such as rollover mitigation, vehicle dynamic control, corner stability control, hill ascend control, traction control and engine drag torque control.
