Tata Motors has kicked off bookings for the all-new Sierra on a spectacular note, with the iconic SUV recording over 70,000 confirmed bookings on the very first day of its booking window opening. In addition to this, another 1.35 lakh prospective buyers have already submitted their preferred configurations and are in the process of completing booking formalities, highlighting the unprecedented level of interest surrounding the rebirth of the Sierra nameplate.
Tata’s New ‘Premium Mid-SUV’ Benchmark
This overwhelming response underlines the strong emotional connect and brand recall that the Tata Sierra continues to enjoy, even decades after its original run. The scale of Day 1 bookings positions the Sierra as one of the most sought-after launches in recent times, reinforcing its appeal as a premium mid-SUV that blends nostalgia with modern-day expectations.
Commenting on the milestone, Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, said, “We sincerely thank our customers for this overwhelming response which reaffirms the legendary status of the Tata Sierra. True to its legacy of redefining norms, the Sierra has pioneered a new category: the Premium Mid-SUV. Harnessing a deep understanding of evolving consumer aspirations, it reimagines what a mid-size SUV can be. By enriching every dimension—space, comfort, luxury, safety, and everyday usability, the Sierra elevates the segment to an entirely new benchmark. The Sierra is more than a vehicle—it stands as a symbol of progress, individuality, and aspiration.”

The all-new Tata Sierra was officially launched on November 25, 2025, marking the return of a nameplate that shaped aspirations for over three decades. While the design carries forward the Sierra’s distinctive DNA and heritage cues, the modern incarnation is built to meet contemporary expectations, combining advanced technology, premium features and robust performance. Tata positions the Sierra as more than just a new SUV — an invitation to “Escape Mediocre” and redefine what customers can expect from the segment.
Powering the new Sierra are three engine options, catering to a wide range of buyers. These include the 1.5-litre Kryojet diesel, the 1.5-litre TGDi Hyperion turbo-petrol, and the 1.5-litre NA Revotron petrol engine. Together, these powertrains are aimed at delivering confident performance across varied driving needs, further strengthening the Sierra’s case as a versatile and aspirational offering in the competitive mid-size SUV space.
With bookings now underway and customer interest running high, it remains to be seen how quickly Tata Motors can ramp up deliveries — but the Day 1 response clearly signals that the Sierra’s comeback has struck a powerful chord with Indian buyers.
