Tata TaMo Futuro sportscar rendered – World Premiere at Geneva Motor Show 2017

Tamo Futuro (speculated name) limited production sportscar may not have a significant impact on Tata Motors’ bottom line in the immediate future but the maiden project by the automaker’s newly formed “incubating center” is at the very center of its latest turnaround strategy.

Destined to make its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2017 next month, TaMo Futuro is an exercise which is aimed at gaining back the brand value that was lost and some more. As we eagerly wait for the car’s unveil, our rendering artist Pratyush Rout has been busy cooking up speculative renderings based on the breadcrumbs provided by the company in the form of a teaser image.

Please note that the finer details of the renderings are purely speculative as we had no reference to work on. So, the actual car may look very different. However, that silhouette is reasonably accurate as it was synthesized from the teaser and hence, these images do give you a fair idea on what to expect! Looks like TaMo Futuro would fit the company’s description – “a stunning looking car for the money”.

Technical specifications and features list are still under wraps but we expect the sportscar to be powered by Tata’s Revotron turbocharged petrol unit at a high state of tune. Also onboard will be a connected vehicle technology suite based on Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing platform.

In the global arena, TaMo Futuro is likely to be positioned to rival affordable no-nonsense sportscars like the Mazda MX-5, Fiat 124 Spyder, Toyota GT86 albeit with much more exclusivity. In India, it will be positioned as Tata’s halo model.

Update – Mr Pratap Bose, Head Designer, Tata Motors has retweeted the render 🙂

Below is the digital journey of Tata TaMo Futuro – From a render to a production ready car.
