With Tiago’s popularity on the rise, thanks to attractive design, innovative features and unbeatable price, Tata Motors is getting ready to launch a new variant of their new small car, an AMT variant.
Spied on test, Tata Tiago AMT will be offered only with the petrol engine option. It will rival with the likes of Celerio AMT and Alto K10 AMT in the entry level automatic car segment.
Based on a new generation platform, Tata Tiago is currently offered in a choice of petrol and diesel engine options. Both these engines are from Tata’s new family of three-cylinder engines. Petrol engine is from the Revotron family while the diesel is from the Revotorq family.
Tiago’s 1.2-liter petrol engine is rated at 85 PS and 114 Nm, while the 1.05-liter diesel is rated at 70 PS and 140 Nm. Both mated to 5 MT, mileage claimed is 23.84 kmpl and 27.28 kmpl respectively. Expect the AMT variant to deliver same mileage as that of the petrol variant, making Tiago AMT one the most fuel efficient automatic cars in India.
Priced in the range of INR 3.20 lakh – INR 4.75 lakh, expect the AMT variant to be about INR 30-50,000 more expensive than the respective petrol Tiago variant. More details will be revealed once the car is launched.
