The new Tata Zica has been built on a completely new platform. It also features new petrol and diesel engine. Set for a launch during the second week of January 2016, Tata Zica will initially be offered only with manual gearbox option.
Set to rival the likes of Hyundai i10 and Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Tata Zica will also be offered with an AMT gearbox, confirms Tata Motors. There are plans to offer AMT gearbox on board the petrol as well as diesel variant of Zica, thus making it the only car in the segment to come with AMT gearbox for both petrol and diesel engine option.
AMT gearbox on-board new Tata Nano.Based on the similar platform as Tata Indica, the new Zica receives an all new 1.2 liter three cylinder DOHC petrol engine and 1.05 liter three cylinder diesel engine offering 83.8 bhp and 69 bhp power respectively. Both engines are mated to 5 speed manual gearbox. Tata Zica measures 3,746 mm long, 1,647 mm wide, 1,535 mm tall, It sees ground clearance at 170 mm and boot space of 242 litres.

Tata Zica petrol variant weighs a total of 1,012 kgs while the diesel variant weighs 1,080 kgs. It will come in with state of the art Harman infotainment system compatible with Bluetooth, USB and AUX-IN. It also has 8 speaker set-up that includes 4 speakers and 4 tweeters along with navigation app and Juke car app thus making music steaming seamless.
Noting increasing demand for AMT variants and with over half of the GenX Nano sales being for the AMT variants, Tata Motors is equally confident of increased sales where the Zica AMT is concerned once it is launched.
