Officially unveiled last month, the new global small car from Tata Motors, Zica will be launched in India on the 20th of January. Aimed at young, first time car buyers, the new Tata Zica is expected to be priced in the range of INR 3.8-6 lakh. Once launched it will rival the likes of Maruti WagonR, Maruti Celerio and the Hyundai i10.
Powering the petrol Tata Zica is a 1.2 liter 3 cyl Revotron engine which delivers 85 PS at 6000 rpm and 114 Nm at 3500 rpm. The diesel Tata Zica features a 1.05 liter 3 cyl Revotorq engine which delivers 70 PS at 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm torque between 1800-3000 rpm. Both these engines are mated to a five speed MT.
Features on offer include airbags, ABS, cornering stability, driving modes, best in class Harman infotainment system with 8 speakers, smarphone based navigation, exceptional cabin space, large boot, comfortable seats, and much more.
Designed at Tata Motors’ design studio in Italy, UK and India; Zica will be the first car which will be promoted by their new global ambassador – Lionel Messi. Apart from being sold in India, Tata Motors also has plans of exporting the small car to many countries across the globe.

To be produced from their under-utilized facility in Sanand near Ahmedabad, launch of Tata Zica will be followed by a compact sedan based on the same platform, Hexa MPV and Nexon compact SUV.
