Maruti Suzuki issues safety advisories for Workshops and Service Centers

With social distancing as the new norm, Maruti Suzuki introduces ‘Service on Wheels’ and ‘Pick and Drop’ for all its customers

With a firm commitment to ensure the safety of customers visiting Maruti Suzuki Workshops and Service Centers, a series of standard operating procedures have been initiated by the company. These SOPs are in line with the guidelines as stipulated by the State and Central Governments, amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has over 3,800 service centers spread over 1,914 cities in India. They need to ensure the safety of their own staff and workers as well as that of the customers visiting these areas.

It is for this reason that the company is encouraging customers to avail of its call in and doorstep ‘Service on Wheels’ and ‘Pick and Drop’ facilities so that customers need not venture out of their homes to gets their vehicles serviced.

Maruti dealer norms

For a complete contactless service process, the company’s 80,000 employees have been trained in SOPs to be followed. These include a special focus on hygiene and remote monitoring facilities along with no paperwork. The health of the staff will be monitored at all times while a record of their health parameters will be maintained on the dedicated wellness app. This app will be along with the Aarogya Setu App of the Government of India to keep track of the health of workshop staff.

Where safety measures to be followed at the Workshop is concerned, all employees have been instructed to greet customers who choose to come to the workshop with a Namaste instead of shaking hands to maintain social distancing. Service staff will be required to wear protective gear at all times.

The customer’s lounge area and all touch points should be sanitized at regular intervals and for service vehicles, there will be disposable seat covers, steering wheel covers and gear lever knobs. Complete sanitization of vehicles and keys will be conducted at the time of pick up and drop.

Out of the company’s 3,800 service centers across 1,914 cities in India, 2,000 workshops have commenced operations in 1,100 cities. The rest of the service centers will open as per orders from local authorities.

Maruti Suzuki has also offered advice to customers on how to maintain their vehicles during the lock down period. Extended warranty and free service benefits are also on offer till the end of June 2020 and Maruti Suzuki’s Arena and NEXA Showrooms are also offering hefty discounts and exchange benefits to customers on the entire list of Maruti Suzuki cars during this month.
