Tata Motors offers benefits of up to Rs 45k to health care workers

Tata Motors says that the benefits are valid on all their cars except Altroz

Tata Motors is now offering benefits of up to Rs 45,000 across their entire range of cars, except for the newly launched Altroz. The benefit is valid only for health care workers. Though Tata has not announced Altroz to be part of this scheme, select dealers are offering discount on Altroz as well.

Tata Motors spokesperson said, “At Tata Motors, the buying process is simple, convenient and beneficial for our customers as they can avail a variety of options to choose from. In addition to attractive, limited period offers, we are facilitating up to 100% on road funding on our entire range of cars and SUVs.”

“Customers can also take advantage from the long tenure EMI schemes (up to 8 years) thus lowering the amount of their monthly EMI payment. The option of customising EMI payments every year in line with their cash flows offers additional convenience and enhances benefits. To thank and support the brave COVID frontline warriors (doctors, healthcare professionals and police), we have special offers as well.”

While delivery of vehicles is subject to local authority decisions regarding opening up business and activity in certain areas at this time of lockdown, manufacturers have for the mast part let potential customers know that those interested can go on and book cars online. This again is a matter up for debate, because while EMIs are the backbone of big ticket purchases, is this the right time to buy a car.

2020 Tata Altroz was at the time of launch listed at price of Rs 5.29 lakh. And while usually new cars are made available first at an introductory price and soon price is revised, especially with FY end, and other tax increases, Covid-19 has propelled a shift in pattern and business functionality.

Tata Altroz is available with two engine options, and in five variants. One may buy Tata cars through the Tata ‘Click to Drive’ digital sales platform or at select dealerships. Please note, that dealership functionality is limited at the moment and will continue to function in this manner based on permissions by local authorities.

2020 Tata Altroz gets a 1.2-litre, 3-cyl, naturally aspirated petrol engine that returns 86hp and 113Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre, 4-cyl turbo-diesel unit returns 90hp and 200Nm of torque. Both engines are paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Sales for through May 2020 are expected to be tepid, and barely there, and at the end of the month will rightly reflect the impact of lockdown. Last month, manufacturers were able to export vehicles in limited numbers.

Re-opening plants comes with huge adjustments that stress on safety of factory workers, and revolve around much needed social distancing. With limited workers, and limited shifts, production is being adjusted to be at reduced output. In its segment, Altroz takes on Hyundai i20, Toyota Glanza, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and Honda Jazz.
