Toru Tokushige, CEO of Terra Motors spoke of the many advantages of using electric vehicles in Sri Lanka, an eco-friendly and tourism oriented island country. Terra Motors is keen to contribute in creating a sustainable society in Sri Lanka, by promoting hi-quality electric vehicles with an excellent partner, in this case, Browns.
CEO, Brown & Company PLC says through its partnership with Terra Motors, they will introduce a cost-effective mode of transport, which is a a pollution-free vehicle to Sri Lankan auto industry. Brown’s is quite excited to work together with Terra Motors on this initiative, and are keen about launch.
Earlier in 2014, Terra Motors confirmed $10 million in funding to roll out electric scooters and tuk-tuks across Asia. At the start of September, Terra Motors announced market penetration with A4000i electric scooter with smartphone connection in Europe. Toru Tokushige, CEO of Terra Motors said while there have been concept electric motorcycles with smart phones, A4000i is the world’s-first mass production model to offer the same.
A4000i will be on display at International Motorcycle Exhibition in Milan, Italy in November. Spesso Srl A4000i sales in Italy have begun. A4000i’s smartphone connection with its powertrain sees a native app capable of storing data on cloud database. Data on electricity consumption during driving, State of Charge (SOC), and driving behavior (duration, max/min/ave speed, etc) will be analysed to deliver new big data-based services in the future.
A4000i is purely Japanese, suitable for countrysides and rough roads, and has a seating capacity for 2. It’s removable lithium battery is developed through in-house R&D. It’s endurance of about 50,000 km is 5 times longer than Chinese electric motorcycles.
