Even as the windows of the new Tesla Cybertruck shattered during global launch, the orders have been flowing in at an insane rate. Elon Musk has revealed that the booking numbers have already crossed the 1.46 lakh mark. And the new video released by Elon Musk, is sure to get them even more bookings.
This new Cybertruck is an electric battery powered light commercial vehicle which has been developed by Tesla. It is offered in three versions of single motor rear wheel drive, dual motor all wheel drive and tri motor all wheel drive with order books already filling up prior to launch which is slated for sometime in the latter half of 2021.

The Tesla Cybertruck above is believed to be the top of the line variant, which has a towing capacity of 14,000-pound (6,350 kgs). Ford F-150 towing capacity is 12,700 pounds (5,760 kgs). Ford F150 is powered by a 3.5 liter twin-turbo diesel EcoBoost V6 engine which delivers 450 hp and 610 Nm.
Elon Musk has stated that of the 146k orders to date, 42 percent are for the dual variant, 41 percent for the tri and 17 percent for the single motor. Despite these orders coming in, production of the single and dual motor versions are only expected to commence from end 2021 while that of the tri motor variant will only come by the end of 2022.
Tesla Cybertruck promises excellent off roading performance with its adaptive air suspension and 16 inches of ground clearance. It is built with an all ultra hard 30X cold rolled stainless steel body with the same cold rolled steel alloy as was used in SpaceX for its Mars rocket prototype.
This lightweight body structure will allow the Cybertruck to go from 0 to 100kmph in about three seconds. The single motor RWD will offer a range of over 402 km, dual motor AWD could get a range of more than 482 kms and tri motor AWD with a range upwards of 804 kms.
The Cybertruck electric pickup comes with a large cabin with capacity of upto 6 adults. It gets a 17” touchscreen with new customized user interface and while there were no side mirrors and rear view mirror, there was a display connected to a camera embedded at the back of the truck.
Where pricing is concerned, the Tesla Cybertruck single motor RWD is priced at US$ 39,900 (Rs.28,59,413) while the dual motor AWD and Tri motor AWD will be priced at USD 49,900 (Rs.35,76,058) and USD 69,900 (Rs.50,08,684), respectively.
