Many OEMs have posted their best sales since the start of the ongoing pandemic. Let’s have a look at the Top 10 Cars July 2020.

If compared with last year’s performance, Alto clocked in around 18% higher sales, which is commendable considering the ongoing Covid-outbreak. The second best selling car of July’20 was the Maruti WagonR. Maruti sold 13,515 units of the WagonR in July’20, while it had sold 15,062 units in the same month last year. Overall, the model saw sales decline of around 10%.
Maruti Baleno claimed the title of being the third best selling car of July’20. Overall, 11,571 units of the Baleno were sold in July’20 whereas the company had shipped 10,482 units in the month of July’19. Compared to last year, the hot hatch saw a growth of around 10%. The Hyundai Creta landed up becoming the fourth best selling car of the country. Last year, Hyundai had sold 6,585 units of Creta in July’19 while in July’20, it sold 11,548 units. Also, it is to be noted that it was the best selling SUV of July’20 and the best selling vehicle from Hyundai too.

The 7th car on the list was the Ertiga which registered sales of 8,504 units in Jul’20. The Eeco from Maruti tailed Ertiga closely to land up at the 8th spot with total sales of 8,501 units in the previous month. The 9th & 10th cars on the list were the Hyundai Grand i10 and Kia Seltos, respectively.
Overall, there were 5 cars which crossed the 10K monthly sales mark. Out of these top 10 selling cars, Maruti dominated the overall chart. Maruti had 7 cars in the list while Hyundai had 2. Kia too managed to squeeze itself in the list with the 10th spot with the Seltos.
It is a positive sign to see sales slowly picking up in the month of July’20. With the economy opening up, sales have slowly started to move towards pre-Corona levels. However, it is too early to assert that sales have normalized. It would still take at least 3-4 more good consistent months to draw any conclusion.
