Hero and Honda continue to dominate two wheeler sales in July 2014

The list of top 10 two wheelers sold in the month of July 2014 include four products from Hero, three products from Honda and two from Bajaj. None were there from Indian manufacturers TVS and Mahindra.

Hero and Honda continue to dominate two wheeler sales in July 2014Honda Activa stood at top of the list of top 10 two wheeler sales in July 2014 with 1,91,883 units sold as against 116,765 units sold in July 2013. Hero Splendor slid to No. 2 position with 165,779 units sold in July 2014 as against 156,566 sold in July 2013 while Passion and HF Deluxe occupied 3rd and 4th positions. Bajaj Discover, which was in No.5 position in July 2013 slipped all the way down to last spot in July 2014 with 42,339 units sold.

CB Shine, Moped, Pulsar, Dream and Glamour occupied positions 5 to 9 on the top 10 charts for July 2014. 79,319 units of CB Shine were sold last month, followed by 56,036 units of Moped, 45,994 units of Pulsar, 45,774 units of Dream and 44,280 units of Glamour.

Hero MotoCorp saw a marginal decrease in demand for Passion while Bajaj Auto sales tumbled due to decrease in Pulsar sales but severe decline in sales of the Platina two wheeler. TVS Motors’ Star City bike also failed to make it to the top 10 list as did the Mahindra Centuro.
