Top 10 Best selling two wheelers Aug 2019 – Honda Activa beats Hero Splendor

Top 10 two wheelers sold in August 2019 have lost 16.58 percent in terms of volume. Sales decline has been reported at 10,33,585 units sold, down from 12,39,084 units sold a year earlier. MoM sales has remained stable and gained marginally at 0.03 percent from 10,33,241 units sold in July 2019.

Honda Activa has seen the biggest volume drop. Sales decline is reported at 24.63 percent, down to 2,34,279 units sold from 3,10,851 units sold in August 2019. MoM sales decline has been less drastic at 3.83 percent, down from 2,43,604 units sold in July 2019.

The next two bikes on the list are Hero Splendor and Hero HF Deluxe. In terms of sales decline both motorcycles have posted decline at 13.87 percent, and 12.54 percent, respectively. Splendor sales volume is down to 2,12,839 units from 2,47,116 units sold in August 2018. MoM sales gain is reported at 18.97 percent, up from 1,78,907 units sold a month earlier. HF Deluxe sales has contracted to 1,60,684 units, down from 1,83,716 units. MoM sales decline is reported at 5.27 percent, down from 1,69,632 units sold in July 2019.

Next on the list in Honda CB Shine. Decline is reported at 19.63 percent with sales volume down to below a lakh. Sales is down to 87,434 units, down from 1,08,790 units sold in August 2018. MoM sales decline is reported at 7.53 percent, down from 94,559 units sold a month earlier.

Bajaj Pulsar sales is in the green at a marginal gain of 0.73 percent. Sales is reported at 70,562 units, up from 70,051 units sold in August 2018. MoM sales increase stands at 12.96 percent, up from 62,469 units sold the month earlier.

Hero Glamour sales decline is reported at 18.07 percent. Sales has declined to 60,762 units, down from 74,097 units sold in Aug ’18. MoM sales decline is reported at 14.69 percent, down from 71,160 units sold a month earlier.

TVS takes the next two slots with its Jupiter scooter and evergreen Luna. While none of its motorcycles make it to the list, the Jupiter scooter is its bestseller currently. Last month, 57,849 units were sold, down 26.98 percent from 79,223 units sold a year earlier. MoM sales gain is up a marginal 0.20 percent from 57,731 units sold the month earlier. TVS XL Super Luna sales has declined 21.26 percent. Sales volume has contracted to 55,812 units, down from 70,883 units sold in August 2018. MoM sales has gained 9.02 percent from 51,192 units sold in July 2019.

Suzuki Access sales too has gained, marginally at 0.43 percent. Sales is up at 48,646 units from 48,436 units old in August ’18. MoM sales decline is posted at 5.54 percent decline, down from 51,498 units sold the month earlier.

Bajaj Platina sales is down 2.5 percent. Sales is down to 44,774 units from 45,921 units old a year prior. MoM sales decline is steeper at 14.70 percent, down from 52,489 units sold in July 2019.
