Top 10 two wheelers May 2019 sales – Hero Splendor, Honda Activa on top

Two-wheeler sales for May 2019 find most of the top ten selling models on a rocky boat. Hero Splendor continues at top position with 2,67,450 units sold, down 4.74 percent from 2,80,763 units sold in May 2019. Honda Activa continues on its top scooter journey with 2,18,734 units sold, down at a whopping 19.72 percent from 2,72,475 units sold in May 2018.

Hero HF Deluxe sales at 1,83,255 units is down at .47 percent, a miniscule drop from 1,84,131 units sold in May 2018. Honda CB Shine sales for the month is reported at 92,069 units, down 7.75 percent from 99,812 units sold in May 2019. The position of the top 4 two-wheelers despite varying downward turns remains unchanged from their position in May 2018.

Despite market situations being not altogether favourable, Bajaj Pulsar sales at 86,145 units is up at 22.96 percent from 70,056 units sold in May 2018. Last months sales put Pulsar fifth on the list of top ten two-wheelers sold, up from rank in 8th place in May 2018. Hero Passion sales put the bike on 6th place in the list at 69,663 units, down a humungous 27.72 percent from May 2018 sales of 96,839 units.

Hero Glamour sales continues on 7th position at 69,379 units sold, down 3.77 percent from 72,102 units sold in May 2018. Bajaj Platina is a new entrant in the top ten list and finds itself in 8th place with 59,938 units reported sold. That’s up a gigantic 97.08 percent from 30,412 units sold in may 2018.

TVS Jupiter scooter though having sold lesser units than May 2018 finds its lot improved by a spot. Ninth on the list, TVS Jupiter sales at 56,797 units is down 2.23 percent from 58,098 units sold in may 2018 when it was Tenth in the top ten list. Tenth spot too is secured by TVS. It’s XL Super sales is reported at 52,109 units, down 28.68 percent from 73,067 units in May 2018.

A year ago, XL Super was 6th in the list of top sellers, and has for long been TVS’ highest selling bike, which it has just lost to a scooter. In the revision of top spot holders, Bajaj CT, which was 9th in the list in May 2018 has been ousted. In May 2018, 64,622 Bajaj Platina units were sold. May 2019 sales is down 40.09 percent at 38,709 units old.
