Maruti Arena sales record

The sedan segment across categories isn’t one that sells the most in terms of volume, but it has proven to be important to manufacturers. For some more than others. In October 2019, the market size was 38,204 units. Of this, Maruti Suzuki dominates the sedan scene with more than 50 percent market share at 19,569 units. Sales growth stood at 12.44 percent, giving Dzire 51.22 percent of the market, up from 17,404 vehicles sold a year earlier.

In tandem with market slowdown, the segment sales contracted 18.88 percent, down from 47,096 units sold in October 2018. Honda City takes second spot on the list but is miles behind when it comes to sales volume.

At 7.36 percent sales decline, 5,134 units of Amaze were sold last month. Honda wouldn’t be too displeased with the single digit sales decline. Maruti Ciaz sales decline is reported at 39.08 percent, down to 2,371 units, down from 3,892 units sold in October 2018.
