The new 11th generation Corolla will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options in a total of 9 trims. Five petrol variants will include JS MT, G MT, G AT, GL MT and VL AT while Corolla diesel variants will comprise of J, JS, G and GL.
No modifications have been made where engine details are concerned and the new Toyota Corolla petrol will continue to be powered by a 1.8 liter, four cylinder Dual VVT-I engine offering peak power of 140 PS at 6,400 rpm and peak torque of 173 Nm at 4,000 rpm while being mated to a 6 speed manual or CVT gearbox. The Corolla diesel engine will be in the form of a 1.4 liter, four cylinder diesel engine offering 88.4 PS power at 3,800 rpm and 205 Nm torque at 1,800-2,800 rpm while mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox.
The Japanese automaker has equipped this premium sedan with a host of safety features. Toyota Corolla petrol lineup will have dual front airbags, ABS and EBD while on board features will include LED headlights, foglights, auto wipers, keyless entry and push button start. Interiors will be seen with leather upholstered seats and a 7” display with reverse camera while the automatic variant will sport cruise control and various navigation features.
Corolla diesel variants will also be well equipped with dual front airbags, auto climate control, ABS and EBD with higher trim levels receiving LED headlights, keyless entry and pushbutton start, 7” displays and reverse cameras. Price of Toyota Corolla will be revealed on launch day.
