Toyota Fortuner BS6 prices increased – New vs Old price list

Toyota had not increased prices of Fortuner when it was upgraded to BS6 in Feb 2020

Toyota Kirloskar Motors had updated the Fortuner SUV to BS6 format earlier this year. At that time the company did not increase prices and continued to offer the BS6 Fortuner at the same prices as its BS4 counterparts. The Toyota Fortuner BS4 and BS6 models carried a identical price tags of Rs.28.18-33.95 lakhs.

However, the company has just announced a price hike by Rs.48,000 across range to Rs.28.66-34.43 lakhs. This translates to around 1.5 percent increase in its ex-showroom value. This price hike comes just a day prior to the new Toyota Fortuner Facelift being unveiled in Thailand, along with the new Toyota Hilux. Below are the new prices of Fortuner in India. All are ex-sh prices.

Speaking about the Fortuner facelift, it will receive a bolder stance with sharper headlamps and a redesigned front bumper. New Fortuner will get revised styling, updated interiors. Teaser reveals presence of a slimmer upper grille and larger lower front grille, new 20” alloy wheels.

Changes to the rear see a sharper bumper with L shaped reflectors. Model spied testing earlier this year also showed off a new dual tone colour scheme, just like the current one. The cabin will also be revised with new colour scheme, added comfort features and better safety equipment among which will be a head up display unit, 360 degree camera, multiple airbags. There will also be a larger digital instrument cluster, and an advanced music system.

Speaking about the current, India spec Fortuner, it gets BS6 compliant 2.7 liter petrol and 2.8 liter diesel engine option. The petrol unit offers 166 PS power at 5,200 rpm and 245 Nm torque at 4,000 rpm mated to a 5 speed manual and 6 speed automatic. The diesel engine is presented with two states of tunes at 177PS and 420 Nm and at 177 PS and 450 Nm mated to manual transmission and automatic transmissions respectively.

The Toyota Fortuner continues to rival the Ford Endeavour, Skoda Kodiaq and Mahindra Alturas G4. Launch of the Facelifted Toyota Fortuner in India is expected to take place by Diwali 2020.
