Toyota has officially launched the Glanza hatchback in India. This rebadged version of the Maruti Baleno, is being offered in two variants G and V, which are basically based on the Baleno’s Zeta and Alpha variants respectively. The Glanza hatchback will be assembled at the company’s Bidadi plant with deliveries having already commenced.
The name ‘Glanza’ comes from the German word ‘Glanz’ which means brilliance or sparkle. To add a touch of their own to the Glanza, Toyota is offering a range of official accessories which will not only make the Glanza look more different than the Baleno, but will also make it a lot more sporty.
Exterior accessories on offer are Bumper Corner Protection, Rear Door Garnish, Side Mold Chrome, Front Bumper Spoiler (Aero Kit), Sporty Side Skirt (Aero Kit), Rear Bumper Spoiler (Aero Kit), Side Mold Black/White/Silver/Grey, Mud Guard, Door Visor with/without Chrome Insert.
Interior accessories on offer are – Silver Carbon Seat Cover, Black with Silver Outline Seat Cover, Rhombus Grid Seat Cover, Rising Line Seat Cover, Horizontal Line Seat Cover, Black With Red Outline Seat Cover, Flow Pattern Seat Cover, Square Grid Seat Cover V-Line Pattern Seat Cover, Velvet Seat Cover Fabric Seat Cover, Leather Seat Cover, Car Cushion Red/White Stitch, Floor Mat, Scuff Plate, Interior Styling Kit – Blue Inserts, Interior Styling Kit – Wooden Inserts.
Apart from the interior and exterior accessories, Glanza is also offered with some more practical offerings like – Silver Car Cover, 3D Trunk Mat In the Boot, Window Sun Shade, etc
Toyota Glanza is offered with DualJet Smart Hybrid system only on the G manual variant while the V variant gets a K12 B engine. This means that the Glanza gets four configurations of G MT Smart Hybrid (Rs 7.22 lakh), G CVT (Rs 8.30 lakh), V MT (Rs 7.58 lakh) and V CVT (Rs 8.90 lakh). All prices are ex-sh. Toyota Glanza is offered in five color options of Cafe White, Sportin’ Red, Insta Blue, Gaming Grey and Enticing Silver.
Though largely similar to the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the Glanza also sports differences in a new two slat 3D surround chrome grille and distinctive Toyota badging. Toyota Glanza competes with the Maruti Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20 and the Honda Jazz.
