Toyota Hiace 10-seater MPV was unveiled at 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, following which the company showcased another version at 2015 SIAM Bus & Special Vehicle Show in Delhi last month.In an interview with Autocar Professional, N Raja, Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s senior Vice President and Director of Marketing and Sales, revealed that Toyota Hiace would get a sticker price of above Rs. 40 lakhs when it launches in India. He added that the MPV will be equipped with all available features to make the Hiace worthy of its steep price. Some of its features include ABS and dual front Airbags, power windows, power steering, music system with CD & USB connectivity, rear-view / parking / reverse camera and rear defogger. The MPV will be powered by Toyota Fortuner’s 3.0 litre diesel engine, mated to 4-spoeed automatic transmission.
Toyota Hiace being a 10-seater, can be registered only as a commercial vehicle in India, as a result of which the Japanese automaker will be focussing on fleet operators for target audience.
