Toyota India reports 9% sales decline in 2014, 8% growth in Dec
2014 overall sales for TKM stand 132778 units down from 145132 units sold in 2013, equating to 9% decline. Toyota India exported 1,888 units of Etios series in Dec 2014. TKM overall sales stand at 13,628 (Domestic + Exports) units in Dec 2014 over 12,622 units in Dec 2013. TKM registered overall growth of 8%.
N Raja – Director and Senior Vice – President, Sales and Marketing says following November upswing, TKM has registered growth in domestic and overall sales in December too, and momentum can be attributed to year ending sales sentiment. Remember December campaign helped get customers to showrooms.
In regards to anticipated discontinuation of Excise Duty concessions, Toyota is studying market reaction and will announce price revision of products in accordance. While Toyota would have expected the Government to continue excise duty concessions to support auto industry reviaval following 2 sluggish years, Toyota hopes the government gives the matter further consideration for the next Fiscal Budget with focus on structural reforms for the auto sector. Toyota begins 2015 with the launch of updated versions of its popular Innova and Fortuner. 2015 onward, Toyota in India is offering front SRS airbags as standard fitment across its car range.
