Toyota Innova BS6 launch price, engines, variants – 2.8 D discontinued

The Toyota Innova is an important MPV in its segment and has appealed to buyers in the country over the past 15 years with over 9 lakh units sold to date since 2005. The new gen Innova Crysta was launched in 2016 and has since seen sales of 2.70 lakh units, commanding a 40 percent share in its segment.

Today, Toyota has announced the launch of BS6 compliant Toyota Innova Crysta and Touring Sport, which also marks the 15th anniversary of Innova in India. It is offered in petrol and diesel variants and in MT and AT variants and priced between Rs. 15,36,000 and Rs. 24,06,000. These are introductory prices, ex-sh Delhi. Detailed pricing of each variant will be revealed soon. Compared to BS4 prices, BS6 prices are about Rs 1.12 lakhs higher.

Deliveries will commence from the end of February or early March as the automaker wishes to ensure that BS6 fuel is available across the country prior to its BS6 models hitting the road. Below are the engine specs and variants details of Toyota Innova BS6.

The BS6 Innova Crysta is opened for bookings at Rs.50,000 at dealerships across India. The bookings open at a celebratory price for a limited period while customer orders are for a limited number. This means, that the above mentioned BS6 Innova prices are for a limited period, and the prices will be increased once the set numbers of sales are achieved.

2020 Toyota Innova Crysta BS6 will be offered with diesel 2.4 liter and 2.7 liter petrol engine, both of which will comply with new BS6 emission standards set to come into force from 1st April 2020. The 2.8 liter diesel engine is discontinued, as the same is not mentioned in the official specs of Innova Crysta BS6 on Toyota India website.

Toyota will introduce the new Innova Crysta BS6 diesel with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) while both engines will use AdBlue technology. Safety features will include vehicle stability control, hill assist control and emergency brake signal as standard across all variants. The cleaner emission norms mean that the Innova Crysta will see vehicle emission limits of particulate matter at 2.5 (PM2.5) which is standard for all sizes of cars and irrespective of cars running on CNG, petrol or diesel.

Toyota Innova Crysta and the range topping Touring Sport variant, in BS6 format, will continue to deliver Toyota’s promise of quality, durability and reliability which has been its strong points since launch. The Innova Crysta with its BS6 compliant engine will see an improvement in emissions and will offer higher efficiency and will command better performance and sport luxurious features with more attention to comfort and safety.
