Toyota Kirloskar Motor reports 17 pct growth in H2 FY2014-15
Toyota Kirloskar Motor sold 13,333 units in March 2015 in the domestic market (PY 8,206 units), equating to 62.4 pct sales growth. TKM reports 10 pct growth in FY2014-15 over FY2013-14. For H2 FY2014-15 (Oct’14–Mar’15), TKM reported double digit growth of 17 pct. For H1 FY2014-15 (Apr’14-Sep’14), TKM reported only 2 pct growth. Total sales (including exports) in March 2015 was 14,623 units (PY 9,018 units) equating to 62.15 pct growth. 1,290 units of Etios series were exported (PY 954 units) equating to 35.22 pct growth.
N Raja, Director and Senior Vice – President, Sales and Marketing says new launches have helped register double digit growth in March. New Corolla Altis, Etios, Etios Liva and Etios Cross launch in 2014 and new Innova and Fortuner in 2015 have been accepted by customers to foster growth month after month. Corolla Altis, Innova and Fortuner maintain leadership position in their respective segments. Innova has plied on Indian roads for 10 years now.
Toyota is the first manufacturer in India to offer front dual SRS Airbags as a standard feature across all models and variants grades in mass automobile segments. Toyota Kirloskar Motor growth trajectory began moving upward in November 2014, registering double digit growth of 19 pct with 12,175 units sold in the domestic market (PY 10,208 units).
In December 2014, Toyota Kirloskar Motor sold 11,740 units in India (PY 10,648 units), registering 10 pct growth. In January 2015, Toyota Kirloskar Motor sold 12,650 units in India (PY 10,910 units), to register 16 pct sales growth. February sales were reported at 11,802 units (PY 10,100 units) at 17 pct sales growth.
