Toyota Kirloskar Motors registers 12,000+ car sales in September 2012
Toyota Kirloskar Motors sold an impressive 12,115 units this September which is a drop of 5% as compared to sales registered during the same period last year. During 2011, the sales registered stood at 12,807 units. However, with the current economic crisis affecting individuals all over there has been a marginal drop in sales of vehicles.
The Innova registered an increase in sales of 235 with over 5,858 units being sold this year as compared to 4,765 units being sold last year. The Fortuner registered a 21% sale with 1,301 units sold this year as compared to 1,078 units sold last year. The Etios series registered a drop in sales with sales of 4,440 units as compared to 5,926 units last year. Locally manufactured new Camry registered sales of 85 units while the Corolla Altis registered sales of 424 units. The much awaited Toyota Kirloskar Camry 7th Gen sedan bears a launch price tag of Rs 23.8 lakhs in the Indian auto market, and uses the Lead by Example tagline
Though domestic markets saw sluggish conditions, the exports were a hundredfold as Toyota Kirloskar Motors registered sales of 2,176 units of the Etios Series to South African markets las month. Last week, Toyota introduced the all New Innova Aero Limited Edition with 1200 units on sale by 2012 end. The Aerodynamic and Sporty Design SUV is available in a price range of Rs 12,25,677/- and Rs 12,30,207/- ex-showroom Delhi.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor sold 12,115 units in September 2012 as compared to 12,807 units in the corresponding month last year.
The sales dropped by 5% when compared to September sales last year.
However, Innova registered a 23% growth with 5,858 units being sold as compared to 4,765 units sold in September last year. The Fortuner registered a growth of 21%. It sold 1,301 units last month as compared to 1,078 units in the corresponding month last year. Etios series sold 4,440 units as compared to 5,926 units in the corresponding month last year. The newly launched Camry, now locally manufactured in India, sold 85 units last month. Corolla Altis sold 424 units last month.
“We have seen a drop in sales last month. The market has been quite sluggish and the market sentiments are very low in the passenger car segment. We hope to see it picking up in the festive season. On the export front, we exported 2,176 units of the Etios series to South Africa last month” stated Mr. Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director, Marketing.
