A one-off Land Speed Cruiser SUV from Toyota, showcased at the SEMA Show 2016 claims speeds upto 354 kmph. It is powered by Toyota’s 3UR-FE 5.7 liter V8 engine with twin turbos offering 2000 hp peak power linked to an ATI transmission.
Toyota Land Speed Cruiser not only gets mechanical upgrades but is completely overhauled both where its interior and exterior makeup is concerned.
At a lower stance than the standard SUV at 8.9 inches of ground clearance and 27.6 inches of fording depth, the Speed Cruiser receives better aerodynamics, a chunky front splitter, slick rear wing and a large rear diffuser while it gets a rear view camera instead of mirrors. Built by Chuck Wade, Manager at the Toyota Motorsports Technical Center and his team of engineers, the Toyota Land Speed Cruiser is positioned on a heavily modified framework.
Besides Toyota Land Speed Cruiser, Toyota also showcased the Tacoma TRD Pro Race Truck at the SEMA Show. This truck competes in the 2017 Mint 400 race and sports a 3.5 liter Atkinson-cycle V6 engine sending power to all four wheels.
It is fitted with 2.5 inch coilover tyres from Fox and receives Multi Terrain select and Crawl Control to take on the toughest of terrains. Other modified vehicles also included the Prius G Extreme, a 2 door XTREME Corolla, Toyota GmbH GT86 CS and a wide body Extreme Sienna.
