Given that, existing customers needn’t worry about all things Lexus considering Lexus Delhi is just a stone’s throw away.

In a statement, Lexus India said, “After a mutually rewarding relationship, Lexus Gurgaon will no longer be an authorized dealer of Lexus India, with effect from the 23rd of March 2019. Lexus Gurgaon will continue to deliver vehicles against existing stock, and handle after-sales service requirements till the 23rd of February 2019.

Lexus India is committed to providing guests with exemplary products and experiences, and all the servicing requirements for the vehicles purchased from Lexus Gurgaon will be supported by Lexus India’s multiple other touchpoints, and the service facility available at Delhi.”

Lexus, Toyota’s luxury wing was introduced in India only recently with an initial plan of four dealerships, which the company presents as Lexus Guest Experience Centres (GECs). The dealerships are located at New Delhi, Gurugram, Bombay and Bangalore. In conjunction with the 4 GECs, Lexus operates a wider network in Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kochi. A 24×7 guest call centre compliments the Lexus ownership experience. Lexus Gurgaon dealership was housed within The Oberoi.

Lexus GECs designed around ‘omotenashi’ bring forth exceptional hospitality. A customer is assigned an Lexus Relationship Manager. The company was first introduced in India in 2016.

Lexus’ cars are sold in India via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route, which means price tags are a tad bit high than would be when localization is involved.

Lexus ES 300h, RX 450h and LX 450d are on sale in India. LX isn’t a hybrid and gets power from a diesel engine. It is a tad bit odd for a dealership to shutdown this quickly after opening. Lexus does not reveal its sales volumes here.
