Toyota Vios for India teased ahead of debut at 2018 Auto Expo

Toyota Vios is going to be the star attraction from the Japanese brand at this edition’s Auto Expo. Along with Vios, Toyota is going to showcase one of the largest number of cars from any brand. A total of 20 new cars will be on display at the Toyota stall, and the highlight will be Vios.

Ahead of official debut, Toyota has teased the new Vios for India. Seen in red colour, this new car will sit above the Etios in the company when launched. Expect launch to take place at the Auto Expo.

Toyota Vios will sit right in between Etios and Corolla if it launches in India.

To be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options, the Toyota Vios will most likely get a 1.5 liter petrol engine and a 1.4 liter diesel engine similar to those seen powering the Etios and Liva. Gearbox options could include a 5 speed manual, 7 speed CVT and 6 speed manual for the diesel engined variant.

Slotted between the Etios and Altis, the new India spec Toyota Vios midsized sedan will sport a front grille as seen on the new Corolla while side profile gets a sportier appeal with strong shoulder line. Flared wheel arches along with a more dominating base line add to the sporty appeal while at the rear, strong resemblance to the new Toyota Corolla is apparent. The Vios receives wrap around tail lamps, a large chrome strip across the length of the boot and will sit on 16” alloy wheels.

The premium look is carried forward to the interiors of the Toyota Vios which receives a two tone beige and black colour scheme. Silver accents are also evident while features include climate controls, 2 DIV music system, leather upholstery and steering mounted controls. The Vios in India will also receive AC vents at the rear.

Slated to make its way into markets in India in the coming weeks, Toyota Vios could claim a price tag of around INR 8-13 lakhs and rival the likes of Honda City, Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna. More details to be revealed from the 2018 Auto Expo.
