Tractor sales in India in Dec 2025 showed off stronger with retail sales reaching around 1.15 lakh units
The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) has shared vehicle retail data for December 2025, as well as for the calendar year 2025. All segments, including 2W, 3W, PV, CV, and tractors, recorded double-digit growth. Total tractor sales in Dec 2025 stood at 1,15,001 units relating to a 15.80% YoY growth while MoM sales declined by 8.75%. During CY2025, there were a total of 9,96,633 tractors sold, an 11.52% rise from 8,93,716 units sold in CY2024.
Diesel powered and electric tractors gained more traction over their petrol/ethanol counterparts thanks to improvements of charging infrastructure across urban and semi-urban markets. Favourable weather conditions, bumper harvests, GST rate cuts earlier last year which made tractors cheaper, and strong Rabi sowing prospects were major growth drivers for this segment.
