Triumph Rocket 3

Already available in international markets, all-new Triumph Rocket 3 has now been launched in India. It will also be on display at India Bike Week (IBW) 2019 later today. This high-powered motorcycle has set new benchmarks, as it comes equipped with a massive 2500 cc engine. This is the largest production motorcycle engine in the world. Rocket 3 also comes with a range of new features as well as cosmetic and performance upgrades.

Internationally, Triumph Rocket 3 is offered in two variants. While Rocket 3 R is a roadster with an aggressive riding stance, Rocket 3 GT is a tourer focused on comfort and laid-back riding style.

GT is better suited for long rides, as it comes with low seat height, adjustable back rest, longer windscreen and upright riding stance. In terms of performance, 3 R is said to be more responsive and agile, as compared to GT. However, both bikes share the same engine and most other cycle parts.

Max power and torque output of the 2,500 cc engine is 165 hp at 6,000 rpm and 221 Nm at 4,000 rpm. As compared to its predecessor, new Rocket 3 delivers 11% more power. Its torque output is the highest of any production motorcycle. With the use of lightweight alloys, the new engine is also 18 kg lighter. Overall weight of the bike has also been reduced by around 40 kg with the use of an all-new aluminium frame and other components manufactured using advanced casting and forging techniques.

Even though new Rocket 3 retains the core design of its predecessor, it comes with several updates that give it a distinctive character. Some key features include sporty 20-spoke wheels, unique single-sided swingarm, signature dual LED headlight and snazzy DRL, sculpted fuel tank, brushed aluminium airbox cover, and brushed stainless steel exhaust head shields and end caps.

2020 Rocket 3 is equipped with futuristic internally wired handlebars, torque assist hydraulic clutch, fully adjustable Showa monoshock RSU, Showa USD front forks, Brembo Stylema brakes, and triple exhaust system. Other key features include cornering ABS, cruise control, TFT instrument console, hill hold control, keyless ignition and steering lock, and four riding modes of Road, Rain, Sport and one customizable option.
