Those who have been waiting for the TVS Apache 200, will have to wait a little longer. Rushlane has learnt that there is only a limited stock of Apache 200 which TVS can roll out each month initially. This is because the company has to launch the new Apache across all their dealerships in India in these two months. This means, the waiting period for the initial buyers will be at two months. Post this, delivery schedule is to come down to 10-15 days.
First city in India to get the new TVS Apache 200 is Bengaluru. Here the bike has already arrived at dealerships. On-road price of Apache 200 base variant with carb is INR 1.08 lakh while the top-end variant with FI and Pirelli tyres is INR 1.27 lakh.
In the coming days, TVS will finish launching the Apache 200 in all cities of South India. Post which, it will start heading North, and launch the bikes in cities like Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Delhi, and so on.
Compared to the price which was announced in January, these are higher by about INR 2k. This is because of addition of updates like higher quality minda switches, instrument cluster light is always on, visor provision removed, etc.
TVS Apache 200 is powered by a 200 cc liquid-cum-air cooled engine which is rated at 20.5 PS for FI variant and 20 PS for carb variant. Both achieve peak power at 8,500 rpm and have same peak torque of 18.1 Nm which is achieved at 7,000 rpm.
Mated to a 5 speed gearbox, the 148 kg bike (dry weight) claims top speed of 129 kmph. But during media test rides it has been seen that the Apache 200 has achieved a speedo indicated top speed of 147 kmph. Braking is achieved by front and rear disc brakes. Dual Channel ABS and Pirelli tyres are also on offer, but they come as optional.
