TVS Apache 200 price exp to start at INR 85,000

Till date, every spy shot which was captured featured TVS Apache 200 wearing a blue cloth. This was done to hide the bike’s design from prying eyes. But, for the first time yet, new TVS Apache 200 has been spied without its blue saree. Thanks to these new spy shots, we now have a much better look at the upcoming TVS Apache 200.

Keeping design elements of the Apache series intact, new Apache 200 is inspired from the Draken concept, which was unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. Production spec Apache 200 wears almost similar fuel tank, 10 spoke alloys and petal disc as was seen on the Draken concept. The fuel tank features functional air vents which are designed to send the flow of air on to the engine, and thus keep it cool.

Speaking about the engine, it is a carburetted single cylinder 200 cc air-cum-liquid cooled 4 stroke engine which delivers estimated peak power of 26 PS and peak torque of 22 Nm. This engine is mated to a five speed gearbox with rev limiter set in the range of 9,000 to 10,000 rpm.

Built on a Double Cradle Synchro Stiff chassis, front suspension is in the form of telescopic forks while rear suspension is via adjustable monoshock. The 17 inch 10 spoke alloy in the front is wrapped around in 90/90 rubber while the rear 17 inch rim is wrapped around 130/70 rubber. The tubeless tyres are from TVS. Unfortunately in India, the TVS Apache 200 is not expected to be offered with Pirelli tyres (which were spied on the Indonesia-spec model).

Weighing 140 kgs, TVS Apache 200 will rival KTM Duke 200. It will not only be faster than KTM Duke 200, but will also be a much better bike to handle and ride, reveals source. Braking too will be better as front gets a 270 mm Petal Disc while rear gets 250 mm Petal Disc. You also have the option to get dual channel ABS on board the Apache 200.

Other features on offer include LED DRLs, 3 step adjustable clip-on handlebar, split seats with grab rails for pillion, and LED taillight. It also has a full digital instrument cluster displaying tachometer, speedometer, time, gear engaged, lap timer, fuel indicator, and trip meter.

TVS Apahce 200 price is expected to be in the region of INR 85,000 to INR 95,000. This aggressive price tag has been made possible due to higher attention being paid in engineering the bike rather than adding cosmetics to the bike. More details will be revealed once the bike is launched on the 20th of this month.
