TVS Motor Company, leading moped manufacturer, announced the launch of updated Apache 200 variants today. TVS Apache 200 Race Edition not only gets new graphics, it also gets a new feature – ‘Anti-Reverse Torque (A-RT) Slipper Clutch’ technology.

Termed as Race Edition 2.0, the new Apache 200 is the first motorcycle in the country to get ‘A-RT Slipper Clutch’. As per TVS, the technology is featured in the Apache 200 so that riders can achieve better lap times. The A-RT Slipper Clutch is a race-derived technology. Apart from this, there is also a fly-screen on board the Apache 200 series for enhanced aerodynamics.

Thanks to this new tech, Apache 200 riders will not only get smoother gear-shifts, but will also get 22% reduction in clutch force. TVS says – “The technology also aims at ensuring rider safety in highspeed downshifts, avoids wheel-hopping while cornering, and improves vehicle stability with the back-balance torque limiter effect.”

Available in three trims – Carburetor, EFI, and Carburetor with ABS. Price is respectively Rs 95,185, Rs 1,07,885 and Rs 1,08,985, ex-showroom, Delhi. Only the Carb variant is available at all dealerships, while the EFI, ABS variant is only on sale at select dealerships.

Powering the Apache 200 is a 197 cc single cylinder engine which delivers 20.5 PS (Carb) / 21.0 PS (EFI) of power at 8500 RPM and 18.1 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM.
