Set for launch in India on 20th January 2016, TVS Apache 200 will take on KTM Duke 200 once launched. Already teased on TVS Motor’s website, Apache 200 will be simultaneously launched in India and Indonesia on 20th January 2016.
TVS Apache 200 design is inspired by the Draken X21 concept which was earlier seen at 2014 Auto Expo. From the spy shots, you can see the similar sharp design with split seats and clip on handle bars. It also gets a W shaped grab rail along with LED tail lamps, LED DRL in the front, aluminum foot pegs, engine cowl and alloy wheels besides an extended rear mudguard as against the shorter one seen on the current Apache range.
For the first time, the engine of new TVS Apache 200 has been spied with the badging of TVS. Until now, all spy shots of the bike which had emerged had the TVS badge camouflaged. Apart from the TVS badge, new spy shots also reveal front and rear tyre mud guard without any camouflage. You can also see the engine cover clearly in the new images. Another fact to note here is the matte black colour. Yes, TVS Apache 200 will be offered in matte black!
TVS Apache 200 receives a digital instrument cluster with a tachometer, digital clock and gear position indicator. It will be powered by a 200cc single cylinder, four valve, air-cum-oil-cooled engine which is expected to deliver 26 bhp power and 22 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed gearbox. Stopping power is from 270mm and 250mm petal disc brakes in the front and rear while the Apache 200 also gets optional dual channel ABS.
Sale of the TVS Apache 200 is expected to start from later this month. More details will be made evident at launch.
