TVS Apache 310 (Akula) spied along with BMW G310R at petrol pump
TVS has confirmed that the new Apache 310 will be launched by mid 2017.
Showcased as a concept earlier last year at the 2016 Auto Expo, TVS Apache RR 310 S (Akula) will be launched in India by August 2017. In the past one month, TVS seems to have increased the number of test mules of the Akula making test runs. After revealing the bike in detail, here is a new video shared by Ajith Rav.

To be launched soon, Apache 310 is believed to be an equally good machine inside the city, as well as on the highway. Earlier, a video showing Akula cruising on highway at 175 kmph had gone viral, and now this new video manoeuvring inside tight city spaces shows its all round strength.
New photos clearly shows how the riding posture will be of the TVS Apache 310. The posture is as sporty as it is comfortable for long rides, with not much weight falling on the shoulders, or on the back. The way the bike has been designed this way, is to make the rider comfortable when he / she wants to go on a long distance road trip. At the same time, the position of foot pegs, the larger fuel tank with recess for your thighs, makes the Apache 310 equally capable when you are in the mood to attack a race track.
New TVS Apache 310 concept is based on the BMW G310R naked bike. It is part of the JV, which will see BMW-TVS launch range of new motorcycles in the sub 500cc segment. As per Stephan Schaller, CEO, BMW Motorrad, the engineering of this new range of motorcycles has been 100% done by BMW. This means, the Aluka 310 will have BMW engineering at its core. Until now we have already seen two bikes from BMW – G310R and G310GS. Akula 310 is the third product.
Upon launch, the Apache 310 will be the most powerful TVS motorcycle to be launched till date. TVS claims that the Akula is a result of their over 34 years of experience in racing (TVS Racing). Design of the Akula is inspired from killer sharks. Interestingly, it is also the reason why the concept was named Akula (in Russian, Akula means Shark).
With the Apache 310 entering road test phase, it seems that TVS plans to launch the Akula first in India, rather than the BMW G310R. Once launched, Apache 310 will lock horns with new Bajaj Dominar, KTM Duke 390, Mahindra Mojo, and so on. Expect price to be in the INR 1.8 lakh range.
