Only a lucky few have managed to get their hands on the all new TVS Apache 310 motorcycle, which was launched back in the first week of Dec 2017. Multiple customers are waiting to get delivery of their Apache 310 across India. For those who have got delivery, are extremely happy with the bike. Be its performance, or quality.

One such owner is YouTuber Indian Stuff. He has now managed to pit his TVS Apache 310 against a Bajaj Dominar 400 in a drag race on on the largest highway in India. The results, are as expected. The TVS Apache 310 comes out as the winner. But, only after a long stretch. In the initial run, it is the Bajaj Dominar that maintains lead.

In fact, till 140 kmph, it is the Bajaj Dominar that continues to remain in the lead. But post that, it is the TVS Apache 310 which overtakes. There are many reasons for this. Apache 310 has a taller sixth gear, which results in the bike achieving a higher top speed as compared to Dominar 400, the second is that Apache 310’s BMW engine delivers peak power at a high. Then there is the SOHC vs DOHC into play. Also, at such speeds, aerodynamics also comes into play. TVS Apache being more aerodynamic than the Dominar, takes the race convincingly over a longer stretch of the road. Watch the video below

This also means that inside the city, Dominar will be a faster machine than the Apache 310. Price of Dominar starts from Rs 1.42 lakh while that of the TVS Apache 310 starts from Rs 2.15 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.

Speaking about the Dominar 400, it is powered by a 373 cc single cylinder engine which delivers 35 PS @ 8000 RPM and 35 Nm @ 6500 RPM. It is mated to a six speed gearbox and weighs 182 kgs. In comparison, the Apache 310 is powered by a 313 cc single cylinder motor generating 34 PS at 9700 rpm and 27.3 Nm at 7500 rpm. It is mated to a 6 speed gearbox and weighs 169.5 kgs.
