Both models continue with their earlier engine options with Phoenix being fitted with a 124cc engine offering 11 PS power and 10.8 Nm torque. This model also receives a digital speedometer, digital fuel gauge, trip meter and an instant reminder when battery runs low while the model sits on alloy wheels. TVS RTR 160 on the other hand is powered by a 159.7cc engine offering 15.2 bhp and 13.1 Nm torque.
TVS sales during the month of September 2013 saw an increase to the tune of 15%. During the past month, the company sold total of 189,609 units as compared to 165,092 units in the same month in 2012. Domestic sales increased 13% as the company sold 149,191 units in India during September 2012, as against 168,598 units in September 2013. A new offering from the TVS stables in the form of a scooter called Jupiter has also been launched during September, which is priced at INR 44,200. Sales of the same have already commenced in the north of the country and will be arriving in showrooms across India by November.
