Spyshots of the TVS Apache RTR 200 are pouring in as the disguised prototypes continue testing out in the open. The recent set of photographs comes from Motor Vikatan.
The naked 200 cc motorcycle derives its primary design cues from the Draken concept which was showcased at the Auto Expo 2014. The street fighter sports a muscular fuel tank with sharp extensions, minimal headlamp, a fully digital instrument console, petal discs, split seats, split grab rails, LED taillight and unique silencer design with twin apertures.
The 200 cc air-cum-oil cooled motor is most likely to produce more power and torque compared to its primary rival, the KTM Duke. Transmission is a 5-speed unit. We have learnt that the new TVS naked motorcycle is quicker than its rival.
The motorcycle appears to be underpinned by a diamond frame. A regular telescopic fork upfront and rear monoshock take care of suspension duties. The top-end version will offer ABS.
The TVS Apache RTR 200 is expected to be unveiled at the upcoming Auto Expo in February 2016 along side the BMW G 310 R and its TVS counterpart.
While competitors like Bajaj, Honda and Hero Motocorp were busy with new product launches this year, TVS Motors appears to be gearing up for an eventful 2016. In addition to the TVS-BMW products and new Apache, the Hosur-based two wheeler maker also has the new Victor commuter motorcycle in the pipeline.
