BMW Motorrad and TVS came together last year and inked a joint venture agreement to develop and produce sub-500 cc small displacement motorcycles, which will be manufactured at TVS’ Chennai plant and distributed locally and around the world.
Now, the first-ever spy shots offer real good insight on the bike. The test mule features KTM Duke 390 like headlamp and visor assembly, single disc brake upfront, inverted telescopic fork, alloy wheels wearing premium Michelin tyres (looks like Pilot Road 2 – dual compound Sport Touring tyre), large radiator, sizeable tank extensions, high ground clearance, rear disc brake, side slung exhaust and painful pillion seat. Overall, TVS BMW K03 is highly reminiscent of the aforementioned Austrian naked bike.
Powering the TVS BMW K03 seems to be a four-stroke water-cooled single-cylinder 300 cc engine, which according to the photographer had back-to-front oriented cylinder, with exhaust pipe sprouting towards the rear (similar to the design seen in Yamaha YZ450F).
