It evident from the looks, one variant of TVS Max 125 is an urban commuter while the other is slightly off-road capable. The city bike is a disguised with new decals from the Indian Start City+. The off-road model looks the same as Max 125 urban version, except for raised front mud flap, rugged-looking button tyres, traditional spoke wheels, and raised ground clearance. Front disc brakes are available on both the Max 125 variants.
Though Max 125 is based on Indian Star City+, it borrows the engine from Phoenix 125. Maximum power produced by the 125cc mill is 11 PS at 8,000 rpm and 10.8 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 4 speed transmission.
PT TVS Motor Company Indonesia has declared the launch price of Max 125 to be 11.6 million Rupiah (Rs. 64,150 approx.) for the urban commute variant. Soft off-roader variant is priced at 12.9 million Rupiah (Rs. 65,670 approx.). A special discount of 1 million Rupiah (Rs. 5,090 approx.) will be offered to customers who book their Max 125 ride at the Jakarta Fair.
The Indonesian wing of TVS has a meek sales target for the Max 125 bikes, 150 units per month.
