TVS Motor sales break up Sep 2019 – Jupiter, XL Super Luna lead

TVS Jupiter record sales

TVS’s best selling scooter – the Jupiter was at No. 2 on the list of best selling scooters with total sales of 69,049 units, up 19.36 percent as compared to 57,849 units sold in August 2019. Sales of the Jupiter in September 2018 were a completely different story at 90,699 units, but it has been since October 2018 that two and four wheeler sales in the country have been on a downward spiral.

TVS Motors sold a total of 2,43,163 units in September 2019, up 16.63 percent as compared to 2,08,486 units sold in August 2019 but 32.66 percent lower as against 3,61,097 units sold in September 2018.

While Jupiter scored at the top of the TVS Motor’s sales charts, it was the Luna XL Super that was at No. 2 with sales of 57,321 units in the past month, up marginally from 55,812 units sold in August 2019 but 42.22 percent lower as compared to sales of 99,593 units.

TVS Apache and NTorq sales also increased in September 2019 over sales in August 2019 by 13.21 percent and 8.74 percent respectively to 29,889 units and 27,814 units. TVS Radeon and Sport sales also saw a significant increase by 19.89 percent and 93.34 percent respectively to 18,379 units and 12,360 units sold in September 2019 as compared to 15,330 units and 6,393 units sold in August 2019.

Radeon sales have seen a significant increase even when compared to sales in September 2018 when sales figures stood at 8,799 units. TVS Radeon Special Edition was recently launched. It is being presented in two new colour options and cosmetic updates to attract buyers this festive season. This entry level commuter bike completed one year of sales in India.

TVS Scooty Pep+ sales have suffered in September 2019 down to 9,007 units, de-growth of 5.83 percent as compared to 9,565 units sold in August 2019 and down 46.53 percent as compared to 16,846 units sold in September 2018. Last month, TVS Motors also introduced a matte edition of the Pep+ Scooty in two colour options of Coral matte and Aqua matte at an introductory price of Rs 44,322 adding to the colour palette of 7 colours in celebration of 25 years of the Scooty in India.

While sales of TVS Star City increased 13.34 percent to 8,027 units in September 2019 sales of TVS Zest dipped 43.80 percent to 5,101 units in the past month when compared to sales of August 2019. Both models also noted a significant fall in sales as against sales in September 2018.

TVS Victor motorcycle sales showed some recovery in September 2019 up to 4,226 units as compared to sales of 4,053 units sold in August 2019 but down 65.43 percent when compared to sales of 12,224 units in September 2018. TVS Wego scooter sales also dipped 22.68 percent to 1,664 units in the past month as compared to 2,152 units sold in August 2019 and down 47.77 percent as compared to 3,186 units sold in September 2018.

The TVS Apache 310 was at the bottom of the list of sales in September 2019 with sales of just 326 units but with a significant increase over sales of 290 units sold in August 2019 but down 24 percent as against sales of 350 units sold in September 2018.
