TVS Motor Company records sales volume at 175,535 units for November 2011 in a YOY comparison to 157,041 for November 2010 recording a 12% growth. Cumulative sales for April to November 2011 too grew by 12% with sales volumes 1,499,612 units compared to 1,341,106 units in a YOY comparison.
TVS Motor sends out this statement. “As a result of lower overall economic growth, high inflation, increased fuel prices and interest rates, we expect some moderation in the growth of two wheelers over the next three to six months. Hence we did not want to increase trade stocks. Consequently billing for the month is lower than our initial indication.”
TVS looks set to record an annual growth of 15% for 2011. Scooter sales growth is at 22% with 44,301 units in a YOY comparison of 36,233 units for November 2010. Motorcycle sales comprise of 62,608 units for November 2011 as against 62,995 units in a YOY comparison. Domestic two wheeler sales growth rate is at 8% based on sales of 150,406 units for November 2011 in a YOY comparison of 139,541 units in November 2010.
TVS exports recorded a 53% growth rate with sales at 24,271 units when compared to 15,850 units for November 2010. 22,423 two wheeler units were exported in November 2011 as against 14,341 units in November 2010, recording a sales growth rate of 56%. TVS sold 2,706 three wheeler units in November 2011 in comparison to 3,159 units for the same month in 2012. Cumulative three wheeler sales for April -November 2011 recorded a sales growth rate of 21% with sales of 29,524 units when compared to 24,363 units for the same period the previous year.
