26 year old Alisha Abdullah is India’s first female national racing champion. To impart her experience and knowledge of racing to young enthusiasts in the world of motorsport, Alisha launched a racing academy exclusively for women, called Alisha Abdullah Racing Academy for Women.
Earlier today, TVS Racing announced a collaboration with Alisha’s venture. TVS will support Alisha’s academy by providing technical expertise and racing bikes.
Alisha’s academy has already shortlisted 18 participants (from a list of 80 entries, which she handpicked by travelling across various colleges in India). These 18 participants will exclusively race for the TVS Racing Team during this period and train under their guidance. Alisha too will be training them individually.
Speaking about the collaboration, Alisha says that she is happy to have managed to associate with TVS Racing as it is the most experienced racing team in the country. They have the best racing bikes and trainers, she adds. The association will help budding racers across the country like never before, especially because this is the first one which is a women-only academy. Alisha hopes that more women racers join the sport in the future.
TVS Racing was first established in 1987. The idea behind its launch was to improve the performance of their bikes which are sold to lakhs every month. TVS Racing Team provides valuable data, design inputs, development of reliable motorcycle models, excellent vehicle dynamics & handling etc to the production team of TVS Motors.
Thanks to this, TVS today has products like Apache RTR 200 4V in its line-up. Next, the company will launch a 300 cc motorcycle based on the Akula Concept.
