TVS Sport mileage improved from 87 to 95 kmpl, re-launched with new features

New TVS Sport is now offered in five colours of red, black, white, blue and mercury grey. It promises increased mileage of 95 kmpl under standard drive cycle conditions, this is an improvement of 8 kmpl as compared to old TVS Sport.

TVS Motors has also brought in better features, body graphics and updates which promise to make the TVS Sport even more attractive to buyers in the country.

TVS Sport, priced at INR 36,800 – ex showroom, now receives all gear electric start, aluminium grab rail, and chrome muffler guard, while its instrument cluster also gets a sportier stance. It is this combined good looks, increased mileage and affordable pricing that will draw buyers to the new TVS Sport, making it one of the best value for money brands in its segment.

Power to the TVS Sport comes from a 4 stroke single cylinder 100 cc engine which delivers peak power of 7.5 PS at 7,500 rpm and peak torque of 7.5 Nm at 5,000 rpm. This increased fuel efficiency is thanks to a new DuraLife engine which is capable of reduced friction thus ensuring less stress to the engine while its refined ignition timing also ensures improved mileage.

Management Speak

“Today’s consumers are looking for stylish, exciting, new and high quality products which offer good value. In keeping with our promise to deliver products that would delight our customers, we have added new features and have tuned the engine such that it returns better fuel economy. TVS Sport is a well styled, feature rich product which delivers high on both mileage and durability, making it one of the best value-for-money brands in its segment.” said K N Radhakrishnan, President and CEO, TVSMotor Company.

Besides the TVS Sport, the other products of the company that include Apache, Starcity Plus, Jupiter, Wego and Zest have also been well received. Sales in rural areas have been below expectations due to weak monsoons but TVS Motors expects to see increased sales in the country in Q3 and Q4 while the upcoming festive season should also bring in good results.
