Total TVS two-wheeler sales grew by 35% Q3 2014, up from 4.79 lakh units sold in Q3 2013 to 6.48 lakh units. Motorcycle sales grew by 29%, up from 1.97 lakh units sold in Q3 2013 to 2.55 lakh units. Scooter sales growth was reported ta 68% up from 1.16 lakh units sold in Q3 2013 1.95 lakh units. Three wheeler sales growth in Q3 2013 stood at 24% up from 22,606 units sold in Q3 2013 to 27,946 units.
TVS Two and three wheeler exports registered a 29% growth with sales up from 80,000 units in Q3 2013 to 1.03 lakh units in Q3 2014. Profit before tax (PBT) excluding exceptional items grew by 49% up from Rs. 88.2 crores in Q3 2013 to Rs.131.3 crores. In 2013, results for Q2 included profit of Rs. 30.3 crores from sale of majority stake in TVS Energy Ltd. PBT after exceptional item for last year was Rs 118.4 Cr.
Profit after tax (PAT) for Q3 2014 is up from Rs. 88.8 crore in Q3 2013 to Rs 94.8 crore. PAT for corresponding quarter in 2013 included benefit of Rs. 30.3 crore on account of aforementioned exceptional item.
For Q3 2014, TVS launched TVS Scooty Zest 110, expanding its scooter portfolio. TVS Motor Company now has the widest range of scooters in India. TVS Jupiter and TVS StaR City+ have been boosting sales. For Q3 2014, PT TVS Motor Company Indonesia reports total two wheeler sales of 6752 units over 5187 units sold Q3 2013.
