The TVS U69 (codename) fully faired compact sportsbike based on the BMW G 310 R is all set to world premiere at the Auto Expo 2016 in the form of a near production concept. Rushlane has learnt that the flagship TVS product would be launched by January 2017 if things progress as planned.
The BMW G 310 R which is also expected to attend the Auto Expo would enter the market first. As a part of the ongoing technology co-operation agreement between BMW Motorrad and TVS, the former is responsible for product development while the latter is in charge of manufacturing both the products. A production unit for this purpose is getting ready at TVS’ Hosur plant.
Not much is known about the TVS U69 as of now but we expect it to share a majority of its core components like chassis, suspension system and engine from the BMW G 310 R. The 313 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine produces a healthy 34 PS and 28 Nm of torque on board the naked Beemer. Transmission is a 6-speed unit.

By the virtue of their body styles, the closely related motorcycles cater to distinctly different tastes, so the possibility of cannibalization in common target markets is reduced. We would know more about the fully faired TVS at the Auto Expo on February 3.
