Uber to improve customer care, will offer telephone support
By the end of 2016, Uber facility in Hyderabad is set for a makeover. Uber Center of Excellence in India which currently employs around 350 persons is set to add 150 more to take total count to 500 people.
Uber commenced the Hyderabad facility earlier this year with an investment of $50 million. It supports both drivers and riders and with the hiring of more persons, the company is poised for rapid development in offering efficient services. Through this facility, Uber will also offer telephonic support for first-time drivers in India while an emergency response team will offer support in the event of safety concerns.
Across the country, Uber employs over 600 people in areas of sales and marketing. The company has indicated plans to take this figure upto 1,000 by December 2016 with added investments to the tune of $ 1 billion. This expansion plan will not only spearhead the taxi aggregator to a leading position but will also allow it to close in on Ola, its Indian rival.
The company already has a market share of 50% in terms of trips completed while Uber witnessed growth of 26 times in the country during the past year. Even though Ola has also made similar claims, there is no way one can ascertain the positions of these two while competition in India is concerned.
